  • Overview


    This position ensures that business data strategy and any relevant data trends are captured and expressed in terms that drive strategic alignment between IS and the Mohawk lines of business.



    • Strategy: At a minimum, create, contribute and sustain a data strategy for Mohawk IS. Ensure that the data strategy and data Guidelines are flexible and pragmatic so that they are understood and acted on by the entire IS Organization. Ultimately, the strategy should align with the needs of the business and ideally will help foster improved communication and collaboration between IS and other functional partners in the various lines of business in Mohawk.
    • Architect: Articulates the desired future state, understanding the current state, identifying the gaps between the two and developing approaches to close these gaps. Creates and maintains Overall & BU Data Strategy Roadmaps with input from Architects and in collaboration with EA and BU CIO´s.
    • Lead: Must be a strong proponent of change, primarily by championing change within and across organizational boundaries as well as processes and standards. Continue to evolve the process of an enterprise leader that delivers value as well as develops and improves the skills of the data function and team. Be a hands-on leader for the project team and be willing to roll-up the sleeves to implement, learn and coach the organization through that process.
    • Govern: Must ensure that outputs, thoughts and documents are used to bring about positive change through effective governance. This includes ensuring that the right structures, composed of the right people, are engaged to make and support decisions that benefit the greater good.
    • Communicate: Responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the Enterprise Data blueprint/strategy are communicated effectively. This can be for informational or directional purposes, to increase support for Data Architecture, and to maximize the alignment and improve relationships between IS and other functional partners in the various lines of business in Mohawk.
    • Lead the Analytics Architecture team as a member of the Global Analytics COE Team reporting directly to the Sr Director of Global Analytics COE. 

    Responsibilities include the following:

    • Lead the creation and evolution of the Enterprise Data Architecture Strategy & program, including the coordination of an appropriately balanced pursuit of business, information, technical and solution architectures.
    • Analyze the current business and IS environment from a data perspective to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
    • Analyze industry, technology and market trends to determine their potential impacts on Mohawk’s Data strategy and architecture.
    • Lead and facilitate the creation of data governing principles that guide the data solution decision process for the enterprise.
    • Oversee Data Strategy alignment with Analytics COE and Business Stakeholders.
    • Influence and enforce program/project teams and Architects to reconcile solution design to data architecture strategy. Act as custodian of the data guidelines to keep data solutions & processes as simple as possible and act with authority to stop projects where needed.
    • Assess and communicate the successes and business value of Data architecture to key stakeholders.
    • Work with Business Unit CIOs and Relationship Managers (RM) to ensure the successful delivery of Strategic projects for the Corporation, and decision-making at the organization and/or division level.
    • Work with the other business functions to drive the implementation of data process best practices together with IS solutions
    • Lead and Influent virtual team of CoE Architects , BU architects & Application developers in a matrixed organization



    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline with an information technology focus.
    • MBA preferred or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job

    Experience must include:

    • 10+ years EDW/BI specific work experience with demonstrated professional growth and achievement.
    • 5 + years in a supervisory/managerial capacity leading diverse and cross functional work groups/teams.
    • 10+ years of data architecture experience including building key metrics in various business functions, vision, roadmap, and
    • 10 + years in business application design and systems development in multiple EDW environments with various technologies like HANA, SQLServer, DB2, SAP BW, Oracle, etc.
    • 10+ years of combined working experience in SAP ECC, Suite on HANA, S4, BW, BPC
    • 10+ years of hands-on experience in architecting and developing analytics solutions in various BI technologies like Microsoft SSAS, PowerBI, Tableau, OBIEE, SAP BOBJ, SAP BW, Microstrategy, etc
    • Data expert in SAP functional modules like FI, SD, MM, PP, PM, etc.
    • Experience in Predictive/Advanced Analytics, statistical modeling, and Machine Learning implementation will be a big plus
    • Hands-on experience on Big Data technology like Hadoop, Storm, Spark will be a big plus
    • Strong understanding of analytics framework and technique, Information Technology methodologies, SAP applications and SAP/Non-SAP BI solutions.
    • Ability to quickly and independently immerse and demonstrate innovative, big picture thinking
    • Experience in data modeling in both 3rd normal form and dimensional model will be a plus.
    • Demonstrated experience and understanding of system development life cycle, dynamics of applications development projects, Information Technology practices and methods.
    • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the principles, techniques and methodology of project management, quality management, and change management
    • Experience in defining master data maintenance processes & defining data conversion strategies
    • Familiarity with Agile or Lean execution practices


    • Ability to communicate and execute vision to build a world class data strategy and data maintenance process
    • Ability to merge diverse technology agendas into a cohesive, integrated data architecture by influencing key IS and other functional resources within a business.
    • Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques in a highly complex environment using leading edge technology and/or integrating diverse user systems.
    • Strong results driving change in a complex Federated environment.
    • Proven effectiveness in building partnerships internally and externally.
    • Ability to identify and execute a successful strategy around people development and deployment.

    Associates Supervised:

    Will have a team of direct and indirect reports that includes Analytics COE and BUs with a variety of diverse expertise such as financials, supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, sales and marketing.
