    Manages the research and design of new product concepts through the development and printing processes for all Mohawk laminate flooring brands in the US market. This position is responsible for the overall quality of laminate flooring décor development while coordinating the daily studio functions in support of the design department.


    • Analyzes product, color and design trends and develops new product concepts with high sales potential appropriate for the North American laminate flooring market.
    • Develops product recommendations and presents new product recommendations to the North American management team.
    • Collaborating with design team to identify design trends, sourcing materials, design assembly and coordinating collections.
    • Create digital color targets and match them on press.
    • Support marketing and sales with presentation materials.
    • Proactively build an innovative design portfolio and formulate design decors that meet and exceed the demands of market segments identified as having the greatest potential.
    • Coordinate daily studio functions while maintaining daily contact with Design Director to ensue functions run smoothly.
    • Resolve questions and issues, referring the most complex issues to the Design Director.
    • Managing projects with outside vendors and laminate production for a successful and timely product design development.
    • Actively initiate and participate in new projects concerning other aspects of product development.
    • Develop and manage existing product library and new product concept library.
    • Ensures designs and colors are balanced across the product lines of each brand and achieve the strategic and sales objectives of each brand/customer.
    • Uses sales data to determine product gaps and opportunities.
    • Provide input within the larger product team on design direction and strategies.
    • Perform other duties as required.


    • Degree in design with an emphasis in surface design
    • Five years of relevant studio experience, preferably in the wall covering, textile or flooring industries
    • Intermediate knowledge of Photoshop is a must
    • Strong color and design background a must
    • Experience with rotogravure printing using separations a plus. A knowledge of embossing plates helpful
    • Demonstrated high taste level and creative ability
    • Proven ability to research and apply market/trend information
    • Self-motivated, highly detail and deadline oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
    • Must be able to multi-task and work with cross-functional teams
    • Ability to travel up to 40%
