Sr. Manager Logistics Network Design and Optimization
This position will find synergies to reduce transportation expense by designing lanes that complement all assets and human capital.
The right network design optimizes transportation, distribution operations, and inventory investment to strike the ideal balance of cost and service.
Network nodes—Pooling, Full-service distribution centers, cross-dock locations, transfer paths, agent usage, etc
Inventory—Stocking locations, centralized slow movers, postponement strategies, etc.; and
Transportation—Mode - Use of Mohawk fleet, sourced carrier, dedicated solutions.
Design different transportation scenarios when considering change in depot location
Assess/evaluate current network with full understanding of all the Mohawk business units and the Mohawk private fleet capabilities.
Design and populate network optimization database.
Create network design alternatives, such as more or fewer hierarchies, multi-commodity flows, pooling opportunities, merge-in-transit, direct shipping, cross docking, and supply-flow optimization concepts.
Minimize logistics costs maximizing flexibility to meet service level requirements. As market demands change, ensure that the right complement of internal and external resources are utilized to support ever changing cost and service criteria.
Strive for the right balance between speed and precision to deliver a well-defined plan in a reasonable timeframe. Plan for projected business growth also working with the assets for optimal ROI. Dual utilization of all assets is the perfect world.
Demonstrated experience developing efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems
Extensive use of software tools for data analysis and reporting. Prior experience utilizing data warehouse systems is preferred
A thorough understanding of operating budgeting processes
Demonstrated project management skills and experience; leading, organizing, planning and executing projects from conception through implementation across multiple internal and external reporting and organizational lines.
