Responsibilities

Supervision of shipping staff, workflow and customer requirements to organize and facilitate efficient shipping of finished products.

 

  • Completes shipment plans by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift work summaries.
  • Responsible for sequencing of nightly shipping schedule.
  • All inventory control duties for vinyl and LVT products (verification of rolls, pallets and boxes; locating missing inventory, keeping data up to date).
  • Create and process Purchase orders and outbound deliveries.
  • Manage communication between distribution and traffic to ensure timely shipments to our off-site facilities.
  • Quickly resolve issues in the event of an accident or malfunction in or around the facility. (Machine malfunction, water line breakage, etc.)
  • Communicate with maintenance department any issues within their scope of work.
  • Communicate and create work permits for outside contractors when necessary.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Provides shipping and warehouse stock information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing shipment performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Works to ensure shipments go out in a timely manner and customer satisfaction is reached.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
  • Manage the people in your team (break times, absences, holidays, etc.)
  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the shipping process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within shipping process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Accomplishes shipping staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Communicate problems to Warehouse Manager immediately

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma
  • Must be able to drive a pole lift and a fork lift
  • Intermediate to Advanced computer skills required
  • Be proficient in Excel and Word  
  • Communication skills both written and verbal
  • Be knowledgeable of all shipping transactions in SAP for both CV and LVT
  • Able to do cycle counts on all stock
  • Be a team player
  • Previous experience in: Supervision, Coaching, Managing Processes, Process Improvement, Tracking Budget Expenses preferred
  • Must be knowledgeable in SAP
